CLAIT Advanced OCR Level 3 Certificate for IT Users

The OCR Level 3 Certificate for IT Users (CLAIT Advanced) has been designed to reflect the knowledge and skills of those who use advanced IT skills to process information and to support others in all areas of the working environment. The qualification recognises complex and specialist skills in the use of IT in vocational contexts. CLAIT Advanced has been developed with partners in industry, further education and schools.

CLAIT Advanced has been developed from and replaces, IBT III, Desktop Publishing III and Cambridge Information Technology (Diploma modules). It has been developed as a progression route from New CLAIT and CLAIT Plus. CLAIT Advanced aims to reflect and build on the strengths of the qualifications it is replacing, incorporating revised content, which takes account of recent software developments, and providing greater flexibility, ease-of-use and relevance.

CLAIT Advanced has been designed to accredit a broad range of IT skills, ensuring that regardless of the optional units chosen, the learner will be prepared for the needs of the IT-based workplace in a comprehensive manner. CLAIT Advanced consists of units, which can be entered individually, as part of a nationally recognised IT user award, or in any combination appropriate to the needs of the learner.

The full qualification is ideally suited for those who use IT as an advanced tool within a senior/supervisory role and who carry out a range of varied work activities from a range of contexts (eg Office Manager, Warehouse Supervisor).
